Long-Term Care

A solution when care over a longer period is needed.

At a Mission nursing home you will have peace of mind knowing that your loved one is safe and their daily needs are being met, giving you the ability to create lasting memories.

Mission Health Services excels in providing long-term care in a non-institutional environment, which is needed when a person requires help with their physical or emotional needs over an extended period of time. This might be due to a terminal condition, disability, illness, injury, or the infirmity of old age. The need for care may only last for a few weeks, months, or longer.

We provide the services that your loved one needs

while living in a skilled nursing community, including assistance with walking, bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, managing pain, preventing unsafe behavior, preventing wandering, assistance with eating, personal hygiene and grooming, and administering medications. We also care for individuals experiencing cognitive loss and those suffering from dementia. We routinely offer meetings with you, your loved one, and the entire care team to discuss all aspects of your loved one’s care. We focus on resident-centered and resident-direct-care decisions.

At Mission, we understand that so much more than personal possessions are given up when moving into a nursing home.

Items that are not tangible, such as privacy, dignity, autonomy, and respect are often compromised. Our choices program honors your loved one as an individual. Gone are the rigid schedules of traditional skilled nursing. Residents are empowered to make decisions and keep their autonomy. Residents go to bed when they choose, get up when they choose, bathe when they choose, and pick their own activities. Meal times are designed to meet individual needs, including menu choices. Access to snacks and beverages are offered 24 hours a day. Our skilled facilities do not limit time with your loved ones by enforcing visitation hours. The time you spend with your loved one is respected above all. All residents and family members are encouraged to join committees, as residents govern their home.

We offer individualized restorative programs

which are one-on-one supervised exercise programs that assist with ambulation, strengthening, endurance, and assistance with meal service. These programs allow your loved one to participate over a longer period of time, without the concern of a time limit as seen in a more acute care setting. They increase and promote comfort, independence, and dignity.

All skilled homes are required to provide activities.

And with our meaningful activities program, activities are designed around your loved one’s interests. Activities are much more than bingo and sing-a-longs. Our certified therapeutic recreation therapist provides strengthening exercises to build endurance, music programs for memory and cognition, and clubs to keep your loved one social. Resident hobbies and interests are taken into consideration when creating the activities program, while variety and spontaneity keep boredom at bay. Mission also incorporates pets, outings, and youth programs to alleviate loneliness and helplessness. Holidays are filled with tradition and meaning. Mission care partners even provide residents with their simple daily pleasures – that one little thing that makes your loved one’s day better!
