Mission Health is 30 Years Old!

This year marks 30 years for Mission Health Services!

Mission Health was formed in 1990 as a non-profit organization. What’s a non-profit? A non-profit means that even though we make money to pay our bills, nobody gets to take home any money for their personal finances. No body owns Mission Health and the president, Gary Kelso, gets a salary just like everyone else. His salary is even capped by the state.

Some history: Mission Health began with 4 location: Alpine Valley in Pleasant Grove, Hillside in Salt Lake City, Hurricane Rehabilitation in Hurricane, and West Jordan Care center in West Jordan, an ICFID.

Over the years, Mission has sold homes, Hurricane and Hillside, and saved homes from being closed. In 2010, Mission saved Bear River Valley Care Center from being closed, now moved to Brigham City. In 2014, Mission purchased both Community Living Rehab and Assisted Living in Centerfield, Utah and Castle Rock Rehabilitation and the

Villa in Green River, WY; both on the brink of being closed, making nursing care un-attainable in these rural areas. Mission recently built our first stand-alone assisted living and memory care when they completed Crescent Senior Living in 2018.

In 2008, Mission embarked on a mission to change the quality of care by joining the Eden Alternative for Culture change.

Over the years, Mission has won 5 Best of State awards, 6 Bronze quality awards, and 3 Silver Bronze awards.

In 2018, Mission partnered with Community Nursing Services, a non-profit home health and hospice agency. CNS has over 90 years serving Utah.
